The Production Designer is primarily a technical position in which the ideal candidate will possess basic design capabilities and produce print-ready files. We are looking for applicants familiar with file naming conventions, folder organization, pre-production process and meticulous attention to detail.Required Production Skills/Abilities

Prior experience in the printing industry required, and beneficial to have experience from the packaging industry.Two or more years in proofing, pre-flighting, preparing, and press checking files is preferred.Strong knowledge of vector-based vs. raster-based design, RGB vs CMYK, type/fonts.Expert technical knowledge to build and keep uniformity among all print-ready files, create or modify dielines, and build working prototypes.Specialized knowledge of printing processes including, but not limited to, separations for traditional 4-color process, spot color, bleed, and dielines.Knowledge of substrates and finishes a plus.Extremely familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud.Proficient with current version of MacOS.Familiar with Microsoft 365.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.Ability to work independently on an assignment.Design Capabilities/Responsibilities

Expert proficiency with design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.Understand and verify the accuracy of copy, regulated package elements, and basic compliance requirements.Implement revisions to match a Designer, Creative Manager, or Director’s request.Prepare drafts of design work, physical mockups if necessary, and present designs to management and stakeholders for approval.Consistently produce print ready files and maintain creative integrity of the original layout.Ensure work meets production standards by following best practices.Maintain company printing standards throughout the life cycle of a project, including artwork files and relevant support images.Collaborate with stakeholders, management, and/or other project participants to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message.Manage assigned workload of design projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.Participate in collaborative revision and approval process until final design is approved.Seamlessly troubleshoot and solve production issues and work collaboratively with internal resources to deliver files according to factory specifications.Report to management about the status of current projects; and communicate any possible issues.Perform other related duties as assigned.
