Director, Experiential Marketing and PR

will be a strategic member of the marketing team responsible for developing and executing comprehensive experiential marketing and engagement strategies to market and spotlight Smithfield Foods portfolio of brands and products, including but not limited to, Smithfield, Eckrich, Kretschmar and Nathan's Famous. Reporting to Sr. Director, Marketing, this role will be pivotal to bringing the brand's narrative to life, driving engagement, elevating brand presence and deepening our connections with consumers where they live, play and work and fostering loyalty through memorable experiences that cultivate stronger external relationships with valued customers.Core Responsibilities

Experiential Marketing StrategyDevelop and oversee all aspects of experiential budget management including contracted or otherwise agreements for activation and PR agency, sponsorship, endorsements, supply procurement, and onsite execution management.Conceptualize, plan and execute immersive brand experiences, engagements, tradeshows and activations with overall brand plan objectives and sales marketing goals aligned with brand teams.Maintain inclusive accountability that resonates with target audience and drives engagement, identifying clear connection to KPIs to show contribution value.Function as internal subject expert for all aspects of experiential marketing including serving as an internal partner on all brand and sales planning teams for specialized input to curate the experiential strategies to meet their target objectives.Leverage network of experiential engagement partnerships and industry thought leadership to identify new cutting-edge techniques to engage and delight consumers and enrich customer relationships to increase market acquisition, conversion, retention and loyalty.Implement and manage sustainable experiential marketing project management processes utilizing business approved collaboration tools and systems for open and transparent lines of communication and timeline action for all stakeholders, partners, teams and leadership.Leadership and ManagementServe as leader, coach and mentor for internal experiential marketing team of direct reports including brand PR and event planners.Strong relationships and open lines of communication with internal stakeholders and leadership; including brand, sales, legal, strategic sourcing, shopper marketing, business management and product development to align all experiential marketing efforts with overarching business objectives.Source, develop and oversee a diverse team of experiential activation and material supply vendors to ensure seamless execution of all engagements and activations, maintaining a high standard of quality and functional expertise aligned with strategic sourcing guidelines.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Marketing or related field and 10+ years relevant marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.MBA in Marketing or related field, preferred.5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development is required.Senior level marketing experience with Consumer-Packaged Goods in meat/food related categories, brand marketing role or strategic marketing agency leading the development of brand positioning, brand strategy and integrated experiential marketing campaigns for brand, preferred.Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to present and discuss strategies in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for various audiences.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.Ability to prioritize projects and produce high quality and quantity output that adds value to the company.Self-motivated with strong sense of accountability, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively to attain results that meet the business needs.Strong quantitative and analytical skills.Ability to travel up to 45% of the time.Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Carries out managerial and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.EEO/AA InformationSmithfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace diversity.
