Job Description:Parsons' Missouri team is now hiring for an entry level
Structural Bridge Design Drafter
or
Transportation Road Drafter
to work on transportation infrastructure projects for
road and bridge design
for major projects in the region.Based out of our St Louis office, you will take engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalize them into working drawings. In this role you will perform basic to moderately difficult design/drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. You will also assist with file management, compiling plan sets, and organizing design documents for submittal.What You'll Be Doing:Utilizing Microstation to prepare contract drawings from general engineering and design information according to established standards and proceduresEnsure compliance with codes and company policies using technical manuals and directivesApply samples, instruction, and established standards as a guide in transferring design information from market prints and sketches to preliminary or final drawingsBecome familiar with various standards and codes such as
AASHTO and MoDOT standardsCompile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawingsWhat Required Skills/Experience You'll Bring:High School Diploma (or equivalent)CAD Familiarity/Experience/CourseworkWhat Desired Skills/Experience You'll Bring:Associate of Applied Science (or equivalent)Understand how to read and create orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and interpret supplier/manufacturer drawings2 years experience in structural/civil disciplinesTransportation/infrastructure experienceWorking knowledge of
Microstation, InRoads,
or
Open Roads
(highly preferred for this position but can be learned in the role)Project-wise and project delivery experienceExperience with DOT drafting standards is desirableMinimum Clearance Required to Start:
