Job TitleMarketing Event Manager

Position OverviewThe Marketing Events Manager will provide unique experiences for a variety of stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, executives, suppliers, and partners, while providing strategic direction and execution in planning and logistics associated with large sales meetings and customer events.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for customer events and meetings, and regional and national sales meetings and sales incentive events.

Secure location and perform site visits for meeting locations.

Develop meeting itinerary in conjunction with marketing/sales leaders.

Maintain attendee lists.

Coordinate travel arrangements for clients and sales force.

Attend all events.

Deliver an exceptional attendee experience for all programs; anticipate challenges and be resourceful to recommend efficient and achievable solutions to ensure success.

Ability to leverage Shaw's spend with third party travel agency and vendor partners to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum cost to Shaw.

Assess agency and/or vendor performance versus company needs and take action as needed.

Ensure on-site logistics are managed effectively for programs and events (i.e. registration, attendees, agenda, transportation, rooming, meal planning/BEOs, activities, DMC management, etc).

Evaluate and provide post-event analysis to ensure continuous improvement of all programs.

Develop tailored budgets and prepare budgetary recommendations for all program components; execute programs within established budget.

Evaluate and provide post-event analysis of financial information for accuracy, such as invoices for services and materials; the hotel invoice, subcontractor invoices, etc. in preparation of the final financial report.

Build relationships with key stakeholders; work collaboratively to develop meeting agendas.

Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Attend events to provide on-site support as requested. (Approximate travel 50%)

Ability to problem-solve and work independently while managing numerous deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

4 year degree OR high school diploma, plus 5-7 years relevant work experience (hospitality management, meetings/event management, customer experience).

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across multiple levels of the organizations.

Ability to identify strategic partners and vendors to fulfill need.

Have leadership abilities, exemplify professionalism, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues.

Ability to develop and implement alternate solutions.

Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills.

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess good project management skills.

Must work well under pressure.
