competitive minimum salary

$65,000/year

earn more based on skill set and experience.

A Day in the Life of a Project Designer

As a Project Designer, you play a key role in our civil engineering company. You are tasked with designing complete sets of site development plans that include the site geometry, utilities, grading, and drainage as well as the erosion and sediment control. You do so while sticking close to our client's specifications and to our design standards. You also perform drainage calculations for slopes, sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, and more.

Working on projects for a variety of industries, you take each design from concept to construction documents by using your excellent skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D. In order to identify potential problems with a project, you analyze surveys and field notes among other materials. By anticipating issues in this way, you keep each project on time and within budget. A motivated self-starter, you complete your redlines and revisions as soon as they are called for and look at the task as an opportunity to perfect your work.

A team player, you collaborate with our project managers to keep them updated on your progress and to work out any challenges that arise. You also pitch in on the design staff wherever you're needed. Your days are busy, but you enjoy your rapport with our team as well as the chance to hone your skills in AutoCAD. That's why you love coming to work every day!

Qualifications for a Project Designer

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or landscape architecture OR the equivalent in technical training and experienceHigh proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suiteFull range of visual depth perception and the ability to distinguish colorsValid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to occasionally travel overnightTwo or more years of CAD civil design experience is strongly preferred. Certification as an EIT is also preferred. Are you attentive to detail? Do you have great communication skills? Are you a team player? Work Schedule

The project design position works a

full-time hybrid schedule

with

some overnight travel . The flexibility for how remote the position can be is based on the skills and experience of the employee and the needs of the department.
