CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of the overall marketing initiatives for Makes Cents, Inc. The CMO will manage the day-to-day marketing efforts and play a vital role in the company’s growth and creative business strategy. This role will collaborate with all areas of the business to ensure that our marketing strategies align with the organizational goals. The Chief Marketing Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
ESSENTIAL ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and develop the fundamental structure of the company’s marketing department.
Analyze and research existing branding and marketing strategies to improve them.
Drive revenue by increasing quality marketing lead volume.
Collaborate with the CFO to prepare and review marketing budgets allocating all financial resources appropriately.
Closely monitor industry trends to anticipate and forecast potential performance impacts.
Conduct market research to identify and develop pricing and product strategies.
Complete vendor due diligence and auditing.
Perform data analytics to monitor marketing campaign performance and recommend changes as necessary.
Hire and develop a high performing team to meet and exceed company marketing goals and expectations.
Maintain strong relationships with industry peers and insiders.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BSc in marketing, branding, business, PR or similar field.
Master’s degree is preferable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience in similar role.
Knowledge and practical experience with SEO, digital marketing tools and related software.
Highly observant and analytical.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Superb marketing and research skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to make difficult decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Willingness to travel and work long hours.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must have ability to work post-office hours and weekends, as dictated by business needs. Must be able to tolerate moderate daily ambient noise levels. Must have transportation to meet shift requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The office is located at Makes Cents, Inc. in Parshall, ND. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours including evenings and weekends may be necessary. Must be able to travel for various trainings, certifications, and conferences based on management recommendations.
