The Public Library Association (PLA), a division of the American Library Association, is seeking two Program Coordinators to provide administrative support for the unit including programs, continuing education, meetings, research, advocacy, policy, and evaluation efforts.

Reporting respectively to the PLA Executive Director and the Continuing Education Manager, both program coordinators will work closely with other PLA managers and PLA staff teams with responsibilities that include:

Supporting committee logistics, outreach, and engagement.Providing administrative support for governance, programs, initiatives, including fundraising and awards.Coordinating webinars and supporting eLearning activities.Expense processing, contract and document management, administrative oversight of vendor work for a variety of projects.Providing general project support for the program and project managers, Executive Director, and Deputy Directors as needed.Excellent customer service and communications with vendors, members, and partners, to include email, phone, and various social platforms.

These are regular full-time positions based in our Chicago office.

ALA staff are currently working on a hybrid schedule. Please note that although we have a generous telecommuting policy for our employees, we do not have any truly remote positions in states outside of our workplace sites.

ALA currently requires that employees be fully vaccinated as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Proof of vaccination will be required on or before start date.

All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check and proof of your eligibility to work in the United States.

Starting salary range negotiable from the mid-40s, based on relevant experience. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes flexible work schedules, medical, dental, generous paid vacation, and a retirement annuity and a 35-hour work week. You may also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).

Requirements : A minimum of 3 years administrative experience in a non-profit, association, agency setting or similar environment. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Basic computer competency in Microsoft products required. Detail-oriented, deadline driven, ability to work independently juggle multiple priorities and projects seamlessly. Strong customer service skills and attitude.
