Job Summary

The Graphic Designer is the primary producer of the organization’s overall design and visual images for marketing and communications. The Graphic Designer will create visual text and imagery concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate various audiences. This position will develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, corporate communications, etc.

Job Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, coordinate and deliver printed materials, display elements and/or illustrations for a variety of uses including brochures, newsletters, direct mail pieces, posters, signs, displays, advertisements and other media using design software. Responsible for maintaining graphic branding standards.

Ideate and create graphics for use online and in new media including use of basic animation. Keep abreast of new technology and file standards, prepare graphics and photos for use on branded web properties and in social media.

Serve as a photographer and assist with videography alongside the agency of record. Provide technical assistance for developing multi-media projects (such as, but not limited to, slide shows, video and other electronic-format presentations). Maintain archives of organizational photography. Use storytelling by recording and editing videos for use on the organization’s website and new media outlines. Assist external photography/videography vendors contracted for specific projects.

Coordinate the printing production process. Prepare and send press-ready files for production. Troubleshoot problems that arise in the production process.

Serve as design resource and consultant providing creative guidance and support to marketing staff and other staff within the organization.

Assist in posting information for employee e-news and intranet articles, physician e-newsletter or mailed communications, digital signage.

Support external communications related to media relations, public relations, content development for patient materials, brochures, publications, etc. Procure printing or services to complete projects assigned.

Assist with design, user experience, information architecture, content strategy and development, manage CRM updates, coordination, and regular maintenance of the organization’s Intranet platform.

Oversee outsourced work to ad agencies or printers, procurement of printing or services to complete projects assigned.

Provide appropriate assistance, guidance, and support to other departmental staff. Initiates face-to-face meetings with customers to discuss needs.

Maintain and provide consultation to other departments/services regarding corporate graphic standards to ensure consistent and effective branding strategies.

Education Requirements

Minimum: bachelor’s degree in design, visual arts, or a relevant field

Experience Requirements

Minimum:

Five (5) years of experience using software applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong portfolio of completed design projects that illustrate your ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team.

Experience with web and online media including SEO, SEM, HTML, social media, blogging, CMS.

Mastery with video equipment, including best practices in photography including camera settings, depth and positioning of subjects, lighting, and editing.

Preferred:

Five (5) years of professional design experience. Expertise in graphic design and desktop publishing (Mac experience preferred).
