The Marketing & Communications Project Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of communication projects for a wide range of University departments. This position will serve as a resource for internal constituencies to meet University communication needs and goals, working within time and cost constraints, to ensure the timely and efficient creation of communication projects. This position will work as part of the Marketing & Communications team under the supervision of the Director of Creative Services.Core Duties

Manage the production of multiple creative projects with a wide range of production needs with the goal of delivering on-brand materials in both design and tone.Develop creative briefs and milestones based on project specifications, advises on roadblocks, and ensures projects meet specified timelines and deliver expected results.Work with designers, marketing team members, departmental contacts, and external resources and printers to determine production timelines and secure resources as necessary. Proactively communicate progress and status across all partners and teams.Write, edit and proof promotional materials and other content for a wide range of communication materials.Use departmental project management tools. This includes updating department-relevant application for tracking project deliverables and time.Collaborate with relevant colleagues when needed on tasks, summaries, statistics, and data collection.Compile, prepare and submit content required for awards submissions.Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee.Education & Experience

Required: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications and or relevant fieldRequired: Minimum two years of experience in relevant industry such as higher education, nonprofit or agency.Preferred: Experience working in print/design.Preferred: Experience in project management.Or equivalent education and/or experience.Certifications & Licenses
