The Special Projects Content Manager job serves as the point of contact between corporate content leadership and station management regarding Nexstar company projects for local broadcast and digital. Special projects include, but are not limited to, the Super Bowl, Olympics, Black History Month, Remarkable Women, the Masters, Indy 500, NFL teams, New Year’s Eve live programming, and political debates.The position requires scheduling flexibility, as well as travel that is both planned and unplanned. The job is based either at Nexstar corporate offices in Irving, Texas, or inside a local Nexstar newsroom.Responsibilities

Manage calendars and timelines for multiple projects, with strong attention to detail.Track record of working across multiple departments in a station: broadcast news, digital, promotions, operations, production.Strong skillset in regard to writing, production, and timing of broadcast and digital publication.Contribute to the editorial process regarding large-scale projects, as well as identifying company-wide initiatives tied to breaking news events.Monitor post-production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.Write, produce and edit material that appeals to target audiences.Travel as needed to work on-location for live events.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; fluency in English.Excellent interpersonal skills and work history of relationship building and collaboration.Minimum two years’ experience in news operations.Experience with PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets.Utilize state-of-the-art television technology.Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Flexibility to work any shift.
