At Multnomah County Library, we have no shortage of good stories and we want to share them with the world.Interested in helping us do that? Multnomah County Library is seeking an experienced creative professional to join us as our newest Graphic Designer. In this role, you will join a talented team of marketing and communications professionals who are responsible for leading and evolving the library’s trusted brand.This is a limited duration position expected to last one year. Limited duration positions are long term, temporary positions that are eligible for County benefits and leave. They may end earlier than expected, but they may also be extended to two years based on business needs.As our newest Graphic Designer, you will design graphics for print, web, social media, and other communication channels for Multnomah County Library, with an emphasis on culturally relevant design projects and supporting the library building bond projects, events, programs, and services. Adhering to brand standards and established best principles of design, you will use an equity lens to create culturally relevant design for a diverse patron base.You will also be responsible for providing graphics for the library building projects that have been authorized by the $384 million library bond. Promotional materials, print graphics, and digital signage will be in this role’s portfolio.The library is open and welcoming to all members of our community, including individuals who may be encountering hardships or challenges that affect their behavior and interactions. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience2 years of relevant experience in graphic designExpertise in Adobe Creative or comparable software packagesAbility to pass a criminal records check, should a job offer be extended. Routine Telework: This position is designated as “routine telework,” meaning you will be working remotely (from home); a hybrid schedule also is available. As with all routine telework positions, employees may be required to come into the office on occasion. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is the library’s Operations Center located at 221 NE 122nd Ave, Portland OR, 97230.Serving the Public, Even During Disasters: Everyday, Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster, this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather, natural disaster, or other types of community emergency response.
