The company was founded by Pasquale Rotella and has been based in Los Angeles since it was formed in 1993.THE ROLEInsomniac is seeking an experienced UX/Product Designer to lead the design and improvement of our mobile applications. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, superior problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating user-friendly, innovative, and engaging mobile experiences. They should be comfortable working with mobile platforms and have a strong foundation in mobile interaction design, visual design, and typography. The candidate should be passionate about utilizing design to create significant business and marketing impact. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and Javascript is welcome, but the primary focus will be on mobile app design.ResponsibilitiesLead design efforts for our mobile application across various device typesCreate visually compelling and accessible experiences using your design layout, typography, iconography, color theory, and composition skillsInitiate and participate in user research and testing to better understand our app usersCollaborate with other designers, PMs, and developers to scope, create, and refine productsEffectively communicate and document design and product requirementsProvide thoughtful feedback to others on the team and foster a culture of constructive design reviewsJuggle multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage expectations and prioritize tasks effectivelyQualifications4+ years experience working as a UX/Product Designer3+ years experience designing for mobile applications6+ years of overall work experienceStrong mobile interaction design skillsPrototyping in code (nice to have) (experience with Flutter is a plus but not required)Adept at systems thinking and information architectureSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and drive multiple competing projectsExcellent organization and attention to detailProficiency in Figma, Adobe CS, and various design and prototyping toolsPortfolio of work examples required, with a focus on mobile projects. Must be able to show us products you have shipped. $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 USDPlease note that the compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the California Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements Law. It is estimated based on what a successful California applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in California or perform the position from California. Similar positions located outside of California will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Insomniac takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the California Law, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.The expected compensation for this position in California is: $96,000.00 USD - $120,000.00 USD.
