is seeking a Proposal Specialist/Writer to be based in Los Angeles, CA or in our other offices located in the United States.

AECOM is looking for an experienced Proposal Specialist/Writer to write water business line proposals. The Bid Management Specialist will work closely with the West marketing team, business operations, and support staff to bring strong leadership, sharp compliance, skilled writing, and creativity to some of our must-win West pursuits. The job includes leading large proposals and presentations, and supports from pre-RFP project positioning through to interview stage, as required.

Responsibilities include:

Providing leadership and direction for proposals, including schedules, templates, compliance, content planning, and production.

Providing conceptual leadership for document design, while ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed.

Participating in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal.

Facilitating pink and red team, quality reviews, and applies lessons learned to add value to proposals. Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.

Writing and editing tailored executive summaries, resumes, experience, past performance, and management sections for proposals.

Supporting debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.

Supporting special projects, as required.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS, preferably in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field plus minimum of 2 years of managing design proposals, in particular winning work for facility design-bid-build and design-build pursuits, OR an AA/two-year degree plus four years of related experience in place of the remaining two years of a four-year degree or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

APMP/SMPS certification, or demonstrated training with proposal best practices, is strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry.

A detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.

A strong working knowledge of word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word), spreadsheet management (Excel), and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), as well as desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), graphics programs (e.g., InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop).

A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.

An understanding of CRM. Salesforce experience is a plus.

Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.

Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.

Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, and lead deliverable efforts by others; and the proven ability to manage documents.

An ability to meet non-negotiable client deadlines, sometimes with very fast turnaround times.

Experience demonstrating leadership qualities.

Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $110,000.
