The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of brand management and innovation leadership combined with the proven ability to drive omnichannel growth across multiple sales channels.Essential Functions of the Job:Lead the annual brand planning process in partnership with the Marketing Director - supporting with data, insights and reporting to help understand current business performance and formulate commercial plans to drive the business forward.Manage the business. Own all tracking and effectiveness tools, budgeting, reporting and P&L stewardship. You’ll share a data-driven vision for tomorrow and a plan to get there. Must have a founders mentality and operate like you own the business outcome (you do!).Leverage the 4 P’s of marketing to diagnose problems, recommend solutions and execute successful plans to remedy them.Lead the branded innovation pipeline. Leverage existing and create new processes to launch new products, leading cross-functional teams with agility and speed through the commercialization of innovation. You’ll collaborate closely with food developers to create a pipeline of opportunities ranging from near-in sprints to longer term hunting ground.Drive a robust eCommerce and omni-channel growth agenda and be able to recommend and execute media mix and assortment tactics in partnership with agency and cross-functional partners. Will be responsible for managing shopper marketing executions across key retailers.Partner across the business units with all key functions – Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Sourcing, Distribution, Customer Service, IT, Finance, HR, Legal – as well as centralized support teams to drive profitable sales for the Food brands.Lead development of the Brand Marketing Specialist for continued growth and success.Supervisory Responsibilities:Marketing SpecialistMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.A minimum of 3+ years in marketing- product management- or brand management role with proven experience within the CPG industry; 5+ years within a commercial function.Strong passion for food and natural food products.Demonstrated strength in marketing competencies, including positioning, brand development, innovation and project leadership.Prior P&L management experience including complexity reduction, launching innovation to drive revenue and managing for margin growth.Preferred Qualifications:Previous industry experience in food consumer packaged goods industry.Knowledge and Skills:Must be excited by working in a growth environment, this is not a status quo position.Key leadership traits include empathy, bias for action, grit and a desire to GSD (Get Stuff Done)!Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams in high-paced environment.Having an ownership mentality backed by strong analytical, project management skills and attention to detail.Classical brand builder with strong digital marketing skills (DTC, eCommerce, Retailer Media Networks).Prior experience working closely with sales teams collaboratively to drive results at shelf.Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to champion and gain alignment around a goal or initiative.Additional Considerations:Travel Expectation: Up to 10% to various SunOpta locations, to customer meetings and/or conferences.Location: This role will be located at our US Corporate Office in Eden Prairie, MN.Work Environment: Approximately 90% of this role will be performed in an office environment; 10% will be in a production / manufacturing environment.Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
