The campus offers the ideal setting for teaching and learning and access to a community of rich cultural, environmental, and recreational opportunities.The DepartmentDesigned specifically for the pursuit of art practices and the study of art history, the Department of Art & Art History offers courses of study leading to a B.A. degree in Art History and B.A. and B.F.A. degrees in Studio Art, as well as a minor in Museum and Gallery Methods.Duties of the PositionTeach museum studies classes for the Museum and Gallery Methods minor in the Art and Art History Department. Classes may include: ARTH 467 Collections Management; ARTH 468 Curatorial Practice; ARTH 493 Museum and Gallery Management; ARTH 494 Museum History and Theory. Coordinate with department faculty, University Art Gallery staff, and off-campus institutions to support student internships.Professional QualificationsTo be recommended for appointment, the candidate must have:Required:B.A. in field relevant to museum professionsAt least 1 year of museum or gallery experience, OR M.A. in Museum Studies or related field.Rank and SalaryFull-time is a 15-unit workload per semester. Actual salary is dependent upon the number of units assigned, educational preparation, and availability of funds subject to any CSU system faculty contract salary increases.Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month.The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salary range is prorated to the number of units worked.How to ApplyTo apply for this position, go to jobs.sonoma.edu and click on the Staff & Faculty Career Opportunities link.
