Viki’s Creative Team is responsible for all aspects of Rakuten Viki’s creative marketing production including User Acquisition, CRM, and Brand Management, to ensure the perfect development and execution of top-notch campaigns and communications to bring premium Asian Entertainment to fans globally.

As an Associate Graphics Designer (Contractor), you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual identity of our brand and content across various digital platforms.

This entry-level position is perfect for a creative individual with 0-1 years of experience, possessing a blend of static and video design skills.

This role will be based in San Mateo, CA and report to Manager, Creative Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop eye-catching and engaging thumbnails of Viki’s video content that resonate with our audiences for the Viki platform and across marketing channels.Implement creative and engaging social video edits to enhance user engagement on various channels, aligning with the Rakuten Viki’s brand identity.Create captivating title treatments for new shows, ensuring a consistent and visually appealing brand representation.Design key art banners and screenshots for partner platforms, aligning with their specific partner requirements.Contribute to monthly Soompi banners with fresh and innovative designs that reflect the latest trends and content offerings.Adapt and modify designs based on provided key designs to create size and language variations for static ads and social media posts.Utilize the content management system (CMS) tool to efficiently clip and edit videos, ensuring seamless integration with our digital platforms.Collaborate with the Content Ops team to extract impactful snippets, maintaining video quality and adhering to platform specifications.Adhere to the brand guidelines consistently to ensure a cohesive and unified visual identity across all design materials.Regularly report progress, share insights, and contribute to team discussions, fostering a dynamic and supportive creative work environment.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Digital Art or related field.Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.Basic understanding of video editing and animation and willingness to learn on the spot.Strong creative and conceptual thinking with an eye for detail.Self-starter with excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Requirements:

A strong portfolio showcasing both static and video design projects.Demonstrated ability to adapt to various design styles and preferences.Knowledge of current design trends and an eagerness to stay updated on industry advancements.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Passion for the Asian entertainment industry and a keen awareness of cultural sensitivities and preferences.Demonstrated excellence in both receiving and giving feedback.Willingness to work flexible hours with occasional meetings with Singapore and South Korea.Knowledge of Asana, Miro and CMS tools is a plus, but not required.Proficiency in Portuguese, Korean, or Spanish is a plus, but not required.At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

USD $51,435.00 - $87,264.00 annually
