About You

You are a seasoned product designer who is passionate about fitness and sport. If you are excited to do the best work of your career, Strava is the place for you! This role will be assigned to the Groups, Creator, Social team, which focuses on community clubs, challenges, brand partnerships, and more. This role will focus primarily on our creator and group organizer experiences.

We believe that our athletes, small businesses, and community organizers are at the heart of building community on Strava. This role will focus on experiences related to creating a group or club, engagement tools (like polls, event registrations, prompts, tools to organize group runs / rides, etc.) as well as moderation tools to keep community members safe from harmful content (inviting or removing members, assigning co-admins, ability to removing content, etc.). This role will also focus on monetization opportunities for group organizers so that they can earn money via their community on Strava, as well as discovery experiences so organizers can grow their group membership and people can find their group or club. We are looking for a designer who has experience building community-oriented products as well as experience with discovery and monetization efforts, including check out or payment experiences.

Lead and deliver multiple product design solutions.Play a key role shaping your team’s product vision.Engage in thought leadership and contribute to wider design communities.Lead multiple complex and large-scale strategic projects that are deemed business critical.Develop hypotheses and execute experiments that improve our customers’ experience.Have direct and easily attributable impact on our business growth.Demonstrate strong understanding & implementation of internal design process.Identify and design impactful product improvements.Partner with a research team, and use research techniques, competitive analysis and data to inform strategic and tactical design decisions.Collaborate with partners in product, engineering, marketing and analytics to help identify problems and opportunities and help shape strategic vision.Help drive alignment of different cross-functional partner and stakeholder perspectives towards a single direction.

You will be successful here by:

Embracing an inclusive, collaborative environment that elevates a diverse set of voices and experiences.Applying a systems thinking approach to problem solving.Clearly and simply articulating your design decisions and connecting your design decisions back to team goals and objectives.Guiding the vision for the product and achieving it through design explorations, documentation, and presentations.Participating in qualitative research and quantitative analysis.Producing detailed specs for your interaction models and UI and collaborating with engineers.

We’re excited about you because you have:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience designing and shipping products and features from inception to launch.A portfolio that showcases what you’ve shipped for community-focused and/or social designs and the impact it had.Designed and shipped experiences for mobile and web.Advanced knowledge of the end-to-end product design process, demonstrating a command of product strategy, distilling the jobs to be done for the users, journey mapping, information architecture, wireframing and prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity designs.Demonstrated the power of design to drive business impact.Passion for testing ideas, taking smart risks and learning from them.Experience working in an Agile software organization, in cross-functional teams / pods / vertical teams.
