As a Senior Data Scientist within the Media Lab team at Salesforce, you will play a crucial role in driving the optimization of media strategy and budget allocation. Your primary focus will be on forecasting media performance and providing data-driven insights that guide our media investment decisions. You will combine your expertise in media platforms with technical competence to build sophisticated data science and machine learning forecasting models.Focus

Forecasting and Optimization:

Develop advanced predictive models and algorithms to accurately forecast media performance, including audience targeting, ad placement, and pricing dynamics. Leverage statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques to optimize media strategy and budget allocation. Build and maintain forecasting models that account for various factors like seasonality, market trends, and external influences.Data-Driven Insights:

Provide meaningful and actionable insights based on analysis of large datasets from paid media platforms, marketing campaigns, and other relevant sources. Translate complex data into intuitive visuals and reports using tools like Tableau to enable informed decision making by partners. Analyze impact and effectiveness of advertising channels and tactics. Identify patterns, key drivers, and opportunities for optimization. Provide recommendations on media budget allocation, campaign duration, and optimal ad spend for channels based on media mix modeling and forecast outputs.Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Media, MASH (Minimum Acceptable Search Health), and Media Lab Ops to understand business goals and align media strategies accordingly. Work closely with media buying and planning teams to ensure seamless implementation of data-driven recommendations. Collaborate with internal team members, including marketing managers and media planners, to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable data analysis and insights.Experimentation and Measurement:

Design and conduct experiments to measure the impact of media initiatives on key performance metrics. Analyze and interpret results to continuously refine and improve media strategies and tactics.Thought Leadership:

Stay up to date with emerging trends, methodologies, and technologies in data science and paid media marketing. Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and thought leadership on data-driven media decision making.Qualifications

Experience in data science, computer science, business analytics, or a related field.5+ years of professional experience in data science, preferably within the marketing or advertising domain.Strong expertise in building predictive models, statistical analyses, and data visualization using tools such as SQL, R, Python, and Tableau.Proficient in working with large datasets and experience with data engineering techniques and technologies.Deep understanding of paid media platforms, including ad networks, and social media advertising platforms.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present complex findings to both technical and non-technical collaborators.Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join Media Lab at Salesforce.
