Deliver design and innovation across one or more facets of the design process, including sketching, prototyping, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction design, and usability.Use and contribute to Microsoft’s design patterns.Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering counterparts and work in an iterative manner, scoping and prioritizing work across multiple projects, and demonstrating excellence in managing broad stakeholder groups.Have influence within the studio as we continue to mature and operationalize the design practice.Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners - continually advocating for our users and delivering expertly crafted user experiences to market.Help champion user research to your engineering counterparts as an integral part of our process.Help define overall product vision and, as your expertise with Industry Clouds grows, you’ll increasingly be given ownership over major areas of investment and the autonomy to drive design innovation.Use your skills as a storyteller to build understanding and persuade others to join the cause.Be an advocate for the user and champion industry-leading, inclusive, and user-centered design practices.Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service designOR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service designOR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications

Practical knowledge of user-centered design methods and usability principlesExperience working on a multi-disciplinary team of designers, PMs, and developersTrack record of creating or improving product user experienceAbility to think creatively and critically about design problemsDemonstrated ability to create design solutions from ambiguous and complex conceptsAptitude for navigating an iterative design processAbility to present your work to peers across disciplinesFluent in current design tools (Figma, Adobe CC, etc.)Customer research drivenExperience designing for enterprise products, specifically of a commerce or consumer goods industry.Familiarity with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs)Experience producing functional prototypes, motion studies, and interface models.Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
