Employees of Bernalillo County enjoy many thoughtful rewards such as generous leave accruals, career development opportunities, remote & flex-work options as appropriate, longevity pay, education assistance program, health benefits, lucrative retirement, and so much more.Job Responsibilities:Develop, coordinate, and manage Bernalillo County's Quality of Life Fund initiative to benefit agriculture, animal care, arts and culture, housing, memorials, open space, parks and recreation, special events, and sponsorships.Work with management in the development, coordination, promotion, and implementation of events and programs with local businesses and community organizations.Develop and manage comprehensive countywide advertising strategy from a business, sales, and technical perspective. Assist the manager in an administrative capacity on a daily basis to include correspondence, scheduling meetings, creating and maintaining mailing lists, and tracking reporting requirements.Initiate and manage discussions and sales with individual companies, sponsors, and agencies.Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales of the organization's products and/or services.Develop, create, and implement all sales materials; research and update all rate cards for county facility inventory. Evaluate and implement appropriate new sales techniques to increase the county's sales volume.Create and oversee the implementation of a strategic approach to benefit the Quality of Life Fund, which may include major gifts, corporate donations, grants, solicitation, and in-kind resources.Develop and implement creative campaigns, which enhance the marketing of specific programs, initiatives, and events while meeting Bernalillo County's goals and objectives in these targeted areas.Conduct related research to support Bernalillo County's strategic plan.Plan and coordinate the development of market research studies and develop specific branding and marketing initiatives and present its findings.Collaborate with the community, councils/board/associations/neighborhood interest groups, government entities, and associations to promote and market initiatives and programs.Coordinate the design, printing, and distribution of marketing and communication materials for development efforts.Develop and implement diverse methods to promote Bernalillo County initiatives and programming to the community.May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.Coordinate the installation and removal of all advertising; ensure deliverables are met.May lead, guide, and direct personnel as necessary in the specific project area.Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Journalism, Communications, or related field, and two (2) years of related work experience involving community programs or public information. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.Additional Requirements:Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.Working Conditions:Most essential job duties are performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.Primary work surface is even, dry, carpeted, or tiled floor.Attendance at evening meetings may be required.Works alone primarily, with or without directions. Works with a group at times, and with a select team at times.Equipment, Tools, and Materials:Telephone, calculator, computer, fax machine, and copy machine are used in performance of essential job duties.Various forms of paperwork are handled in performance of essential job duties.
