YOUR ROLE:

RAPP is seeking an Art Director for our agency. In this position, the employee must provide strong conceptual thinking, highly developed design skills, and expertise in a wide range of design programs. You must push the boundaries of creative excellence while ensuring the delivery of required results. The appropriate candidate must also have the ability to work with members of the creative department as well as team members from other core departments in order to achieve client satisfaction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Execute creative concepts that are on strategy across all direct response media (email, direct mail, print, display, social, digital, TV, radio) with minimal supervision.

Generate breakthrough ideas and constantly strive for new, better, more innovative solutions.

Handle high-level projects and manage several assignments at a time.

Demonstrate high-level knowledge of typography and graphic design.

Think strategically.

Adapt brands to both digital and direct response environments.

Understand clients’ marketing needs and consumer attitudes.

Manage workflow efficiently and take responsibility for timing and delivery.

Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Develop great work within guidelines and budget of the assignment.

Collaborate with creative partners and members of creative and core departments.

Present work coherently and persuasively; express ideas in a form that clients can buy.

Show knowledge of direct marketing print production process.

Review and sign-off on mechanical proofs on assignments.

Collaborate with Production, Art Buying, and Studio.

Stay current with changes in technology and demonstrate technical competence.

SUCCESS CRITERIA:

Demonstrates an informed and thoughtful POV.

Proactively tracks trends in business and marketplace relevant to Client business.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

2-5 years experience.

Digital experience, preferably with CRM and retail or financial experience.

Strong portfolio primarily of produced work.

Ability to present ideas in sketch form.

Experience/knowledge in DM, EM, Print, interactive, display, and social.

Experience working in HTML-based media.

Good sense of animation and layout.

Knowledge and experience using Keynote and PowerPoint.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (PS, IND, AI, PDF).

Basic knowledge of prototyping software such as Adobe XD or Sketch.

This range is specific to Detroit and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
