Position Summary

The Director of Marketing, Outreach and Communications is charged with overseeing the planning and development of marketing strategies, station communications, and outreach events and activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Works with CEO and strategic planner to develop and execute a station-wide marketing strategy.Coordinates all marketing efforts for content, programming, and proof-of-performance/image building including television, print, digital, and any new and emerging platforms.Oversees program guide creation, editing, layout, and printing, including ensuring contractual arrangements are made for publication and distributionOversees web content development and serves as primary contact with vendors to ensure accuracy of publications and promotions materialsOversees all communications including press releases, social media posts, website, and promotional materials. Acts as liaison between the station and media outlets.Oversees database management of email and physical addresses of key constituents and influencers.Supervises marketing staff.Work collaboratively with the station's management team in the implementation of strategic communication and marketing plans.Connect with PBS national and local station staff to learn about new initiatives and opportunities.Develop and manage annual budget for marketing and communications.Oversee all brand development and implementation efforts for the station to build brand awareness and enhance the image of Wyoming PBS and WY PBS programming across the state.Work with producers and graphic artist for all programming brand development and implementation.Oversee the station's social and digital media communications strategies.Provide leadership, management, and supervision for the Marketing and Outreach Department, including responsibilities relating to project assignments and deadlines as well as personnel administration.Participate in local, state, regional, and national activities to promote Wyoming PBS and WY PBS content.Other duties as assigned.Position Specifications and Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education.Experience

Three years related experience. Management experience of staff and facilities preferred.Licenses/Certifications

None.Equivalency Statement

Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis.Desired Qualifications

None.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to efficiently use computer software including word processing and the Adobe Creative Suite.Ability to complete projects through to completion with an attention to detail and accuracy with minimal oversight.Ability to work independently and to relate with a wide array of people, including media contacts, in a professional, helpful mannerAbilities in organization, communication, proper grammar usage and proofreading.Demonstrated skills in news and feature writing, as well as digital and social media.Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.Experience overseeing design and production of marketing materials.Skill in creative use of traditional and new marketing media platforms.Ability to establish goals, structures, and processes necessary to build, coordinate, and execute the marketing and communications strategies.Ability to develop a strategic marketing plan, coordinate outreach activities with station staff and partners, prepare and manage budget/s.Ability to supervise and train employees to manage multiple projects.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including excellent public speaking skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing., outreach, and communication activities including media buying and development of print and digital advertising.Ability to lead both long-term strategic efforts and respond to immediate needs managing timeliness and projects.Level of Supervision
