Bilingual (English / Spanish) Patient Communication Rep

in Montebello, CA.Please note the pay range for this position is

$18-20/hr .About the Opportunity

Seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to join our team. The role involves working in a large, multi-physician organization, answering numerous phone calls daily in a professional and courteous manner. Responsibilities include collecting and updating patient demographic and insurance information, assisting in triaging patients, and ensuring proper physician scheduling.Advises patients at the time of scheduling about office processes, including collection of past outstanding balances, co-pays, and deductibles due upon check-in.Thorough understanding of insurance websites, ICD-10, working with referral coordinators, and various insurance lines of services (HMO, PPO, Commercial, Medicare HMO, Medicaid HMO).Meets call quota, runs reports, manages no-shows, takes messages, and covers lunches.Obtains patient pharmacy information.Understands and abides by all HIPAA policies and procedures.About the Candidate

High school education or equivalent is required; a college education is preferred.Healthcare experience is preferred.Prior experience with insurance verification/authorizations is preferred.Experience with EHR/EMR is strongly preferred.Skills

Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required.Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.Excellent typing and computer usage skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds and provide excellent customer service.Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, medical benefits, and billing processes.Experience with online benefit verification and working with insurance companies.Maintain accurate patient insurance records.Good judgment and excellent multitasking skills.Resourcefulness in problem-solving.Ability to work independently, prioritize, and perform several tasks simultaneously without losing concentration.Effective communication skills, both in writing and speaking.Competent in using basic office equipment, including computer, printer, telephone, and fax.Excellent clerical and organizational skills.Ability to learn new programs and systems is required.What We Offer
