Communications Specialist

The Illinois Press Association is looking to fill the position of Communications Specialist.This position involves assisting all departments of the IPA, including but not limited to: Advertising, Foundation, Media Monitoring and Technology.Must be experienced in reporting, page layout, graphic design, and creating marketing materials.Support Desk and/or some technology experience helpful as well as previous newspaper experience.Required Skills:Full understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud; including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.Ability to update websites and social media accounts.The ability to create print and digital content to deliver interesting, accurate and factual information about Illinois newspapers & newspaper industry issues.Self-motivation with confidence and discipline necessary to complete multiple projects accurately and efficiently.PC and Mac knowledge.Education:Bachelor’s degree or greater in journalism or related communications field and/or 5+ years of experience.
