The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Art History. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges’ commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.Duties and Responsibilities

Provide effective classroom instruction in Art History, including surveys of western and non-western art, using methods and materials appropriate to the subject matter.Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.Teaching on-campus, online, hybrid, Dual Enrollment, evening and/or Saturday assignments may be required as part of the contract.Perform other duties as required by contract, collective bargaining agreement, and general institutional needs.Participate in program activities including curriculum and program planning, development, evaluation, and decision making.Teach scheduled classes and perform related duties as assigned, including timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities; comply with District, College, and Division policies in the performance of duties.Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a Master’s or above in art history, history of art and architecture or visual culture/visual studies OR Bachelor’s in art history and Master’s in history OR Master’s in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history OR the equivalent.Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Currency and depth of knowledge in the field of art history, both western and non-western art.Understanding of and commitment to teaching community college students.Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing with a diverse campus community.Faculty Benefits
