The Associate Director provides strategic leadership for Project Advance’s Research and Evaluation/Instructional Design initiatives and objectives by directing, designing, implementing, and maintaining a research and evaluation agenda focused on assessing concurrent enrollment outcomes, e.g., student college readiness, teacher professional development, etc., identifying related trends, and promoting continuous programmatic improvement. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing resources for SU faculty and SUPA school partners to support effective course instruction and enhance student learning and success.The ideal candidate enjoys working with large volumes of data to provide university and program leadership with trusted and actionable data, is committed to student academic success, and can manage projects and people effectively. This position requires advanced technical skills and an understanding of higher education institutional research. The successful candidate has outstanding interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills and can work independently and collaboratively across teams.Qualifications:Doctoral degree in instructional design, development, and evaluation or assessment required.Five (5+) years of experience in a comparable role in higher education.Three (3+) years of experience in a supervisory role, i.e., supervising staff, GAs.CITI – IRB certified.Experience with concurrent (dual) enrollment program model preferred.Job Specific Qualifications:Advanced background in research design and a variety of methodologies, both quantitative and qualitative.Strong project management skills: highly efficient, detail-, deadline- and results-oriented, and effective at multitasking.Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.Understanding of broad concepts related to database structures and data analytics.Expertise in instructional design and development, including front end analysis.Experience working with National Student Clearinghouse data and familiarity with IPEDS.Proficiency working with statistical, data-oriented software tools and web survey administration software, including for example: Tableau-Data Insights, Qualtrics, ACCESS.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive and personal information with sound judgment and discretion.Familiarity with MS Office (Teams, Excel, etc.), PeopleSoft/Hyperion.Responsibilities:Conduct Program Research & Assessment:Oversee annual and periodic program assessments, e.g., course feedback, postgraduate student and partner school surveys, etc., to support program and institutional objectives.Compile and submit annual reporting to Syracuse University and accrediting bodies, i.e., SU’s Annual Assessment and Action Plan, NACEP accreditation reports, and state authorization/licensure reporting.Develop internal reports to assist with Project Advance’s ongoing strategic planning, e.g., collect and analyze data to identify trends related to strategic priorities.Coordinate with other SU offices, e.g., Advancement, OIRA, on alumni data reporting.Set research agenda and identify specific research projects that align with unit goals and objectives, e.g., as it pertains to college readiness, credit transferability, grade comparisons, instructor professional development, etc.Remain current in the field and with concurrent enrollment research in particular; assist with preparing white papers or research briefs for community stakeholders as appropriate and participate in/present at relevant conferences.Maintain ethical and professional standards for all research activities, update IRB protocols as needed, ensure data security, etc.Supervise Staff:

(Research Assistant, Communications Specialist, Graduate Assistant, and graduate student employees)Oversee the implementation of assessment surveys and studies required for university and accreditation program assessment.Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to research & evaluation direct report staff.Oversee development of instructional resources for school partners.Instructional Services: Design, Development, & Implementation:Work with team to identify and develop new resources and initiatives for school partners that emerge from research studies, partner feedback, and faculty requests.Oversee development of online resources to support students, high school partners, and SU faculty, e.g., instructional guides and video tutorials for administrative or other processes and procedures; Blackboard (LMS) Organizations for SUPA faculty and instructors’ course areas; etc.Ensure support for professional development seminars, including technology support, feedback/assessment tools, and video production.Office Technology Support and Oversight:Oversee technology inventory and purchasing.Provide technical support for business office and other staff and SU faculty as requested.Other position-related duties as assigned.Application Instructions:
