*Please note: This position is a .75 FTE (30 hours per week).

Position Summary:

This librarian position will provide a variety of collection analyses to the Library Director, manage interlibrary loan requests, serve as a Library Liaison, teach information literacy, and staff the Reference desk.

Primary Responsibilities:

Analyze collections of Haggerty Library, including books, e-books, and streaming video and create periodic reports for Library Director.

Identify and recommend potential new collections, platforms, or delivery systems for exploration.

Manage Interlibrary Loan (ILL) daily requests, including activities in Alma resource sharing and OCLC WorldShare.

Stay current with Alma resource sharing processes, guided by SWITCH Consortium staff.

Provide reference service during scheduled hours and be backup during open hours, including weekends/evenings, as needed.

Serve as Library Liaison, providing collection development services, and participating on LibGuides team, for assigned academic departments.

Deliver information literacy instruction to classes and groups as requested by faculty, and to individuals as needed; provide tours and orientations as requested.

Use lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) when ordering resources and throughout library experiences.

Other Functions:

Serve as cataloging backup for donated materials and DVDs.

Contribute to library strategic plan updates and implementation.

Stay current with technological and academic library trends, including in resource sharing.

Collaborate with the faculty and campus community whenever possible.

Participate in professional development activities, including SWITCH Library Consortium opportunities.

Perform other duties or contribute to projects as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to effectively learn and use a complex Integrated Library System (Alma).

Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Customer service skills necessary to assist a variety of users in person and online.

Qualifications:

Master's degree Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited college or university.

Experience with the Alma/Primo library services platform preferred.

Resource sharing experience in an academic library preferred.
