Varian is seeking a

Special Marketing Projects Director

to help bring our mission and our innovative technology to life in an aspirational and meaningful way. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with executives, business leaders, senior directors, directors, and senior managers across the organization in the planning, development, implementation, and measurement of special marketing projects, marketing communications deliverables, messaging for the company, businesses, products, and portfolios. This senior level individual contributor role will require close collaboration across the marketing, medical affairs, and communications teams to help bring our mission of a world without fear of cancer alive.Responsibilities:

Execute integrated communications programs focused on a variety of issues, including corporate narrative, change management, and M&A/integrations.Direct the development and execution of special projects that drive appropriate stakeholder engagement.Spearhead the strategic and tactical execution of special projects and activities, including speech writing, videos, advertising, events, promotions, and sales tools.Spotlight the progress of the company and its leaders through proactive, compelling messaging.Forge strong connections with Corporate Marketing, Varian Marcom, Senior Leaders, Human Resources, and Finance groups to effectively message the company's successes, brand messages, innovation story, strategic themes, and differentiating capabilities.Support Business leaders in their efforts to communicate strategy within the special projects, especially with town halls, internal team communication, social media, etc.Manage requests for ongoing writing, editing, and design work in support of employee communications and media relations.Research, develop, and write medical content for a variety of digital and print channels.Develop effective content strategy and workflow.Work closely with medical professionals and other stakeholders to create accurate and informative content.Prepare and adhere to budgets including personnel, agencies, travel, and other office essentials.Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field. MBA a plus.10-15 years' experience in positions providing deep substantive knowledge of internal and external communications.Experience in a regulated device environment is needed. Medical device experience essential.Experience with digital and print marketing, content marketing, and branding/messaging.Comfort level with reviewing medical research literature and identifying key findings to be used in content.Leadership Skills and Competencies

Exceptional writing, critical thinking, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.Comfortable in a highly interactive, iterative, collaborative work environment.Approachable and willing to engage with diverse personalities and stakeholders.Demonstrated capability to utilize balanced judgment in assessing the likely impact of messaging within the organization.Fighting cancer calls for big ideas.We envision a world without fear of cancer. Click here .The base pay range for this position is Min $174,600 - Max $314,400. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
