AdenThe Position:UNFPA is seeking the services of a Communication Associate to support communication, visibility, and advocacy of the UNFPA Country Office and under the guidance of the UNFPA National Communication Specialist. These results capture our strategic commitments on accelerating progress towards realizing the ICPD and SDGs in the Decade of Action leading up to 2030.Job Purpose:UNFPA is seeking the services of a communication associate to support the communication and advocacy activities of the UNFPA Country Office. The Graphic Design Associate will work closely with all the national communications specialists and programme managers to support in the implementation of the corporate communications action plan, designing, managing, and facilitating the implementation of the Country Office communications and publication plans. S/he will also support the design of IEC materials in particular to produce visually appealing infographics, posters, stickers, fact sheets, newsletters, calendars, concept notes, and briefing papers through innovation, creativity, and suggestion of packaging that is appealing to the targeted audience.You would be responsible for:Lead photography and maintenance of an up-to-date photo bank of high-resolution images capturing the Country Office’s interventions.Lead the conceptualization, filming, and editing of video content for the Country Office.Support vendors working on high-level audiovisual content with concept guidance, scripting, and editing.Ensure branding and style compliance in the production of all audiovisual content.Graphic design and product development:Lead the graphic designing of communication and public information products such as briefs, reports, newsletters, flyers and factsheets, posters, Social Media cards, etc.Develop a bank of infographic cards capturing information and data on Country Office intervention areas and adapted to various platforms, including social media.Ensure compliance with UNFPA’s branding standards and guidelines at the UNFPA-supported facilities.Liaise with and support partners delivering high-quality graphic design products for events and activities held in partnership with UNFPA/donors.Communication and Media Relations:Support the design and implementation of media strategies that advance UNFPA visibility and program utilization.Coordinate responses to incoming media inquiries, review of press releases, and relevant news coverage monitoring.Expand digital dissemination outlets for information sharing such as websites, webinars, social media, videos, data visualizations, infographics, email list serves, etc.Support visibility and public information of UNFPA at events and engagements through the preparation and positioning of high-quality knowledge products.Support the Communication Team in organizing communications capacity-building activities for staff and Implementing Partners.Support the communications team in creating creative and consistent content for the Country Office website and social media platform.Any other tasks assigned.Qualifications and Experience:Education:A bachelor’s degree in communications, mass media or a related field.Knowledge and Experience:A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in communication.Background in communications, media relations, and/or knowledge management.Excellent graphic designing and practical experience of using relevant content software (Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva).Excellent coordination skills and ability to manage information collection and reporting, planning and prioritization.Good knowledge of photography and image editing.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented.Languages:English and Arabic proficiency both written and oral.Core Competencies:Achieve resultsDeveloping and applying professional expertise/business acumenThinking analytically and strategicallyWorking in teams/managing ourselves and our relationshipsCommunicating for impactValues:Exemplifying integrityDemonstrating commitment to UNFPA and the UN systemBusiness acumenManaging documents, correspondence, and reportsPlanning, organizing, and multi-taskingCompensation and Benefits:This position offers an attractive remuneration package including a competitive net salary plus health insurance and other benefits as applicable.Disclaimer:Selection and appointment may be subject to background and reference checks, medical clearance, visa issuance and other administrative requirements.UNFPA does not charge any application, processing, training, interviewing, testing or other fee in connection with the application or recruitment process.To view the complete job description and apply to this position, click "Apply Now" below.
