Skyworks Cedar Rapids Design Center is seeking a Layout Designer responsible for the layout of Analog integrated circuits, utilizing commercial/standard bulk CMOS and SOI technologies in accordance with design rules. In this role you will be working closely with design engineers in the layout and verification of analog and integrated circuits for wireless consumer electronic products using the Cadence Design environment and Calibre verification tools. Our Cedar Rapids design center has leading R&D and product development capabilities. You’ll be paired with an experienced mentor to help support you as an integral part of the team.

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the layout of complex multi-chip laminate substrates and RF test boards in a fast-paced commercial team environment, following company DFM/DFA and industry standards.

You will provide layout and design verification of complex RF test boards to test individual HBT, Filter, SOI and CMOS integrated circuits.

You will interface with vendors, create manufacturing documentation, load project data into the document control system and contribute to design reviews.

Required Skills/Experience

Minimum 4 years of experience in the layout of integrated circuits including the ability to place and route active and passive devices.

Previous experience in the layout of bulk CMOS PA controllers preferred. Experience with RF SOI switches a plus.

Basic experience and competency in using the Cadence Virtuoso tool.

Ability to plan the placement of major circuit components in an overall physical design a plus.

Top level integration experience is also preferred.

Proven ability to perform layout vs. schematic (LVS) and design rule (DRC) checks using the Calibre verification tool and to read electrical schematics and netlists.

Basic understanding of semiconductor processes and structures, like CMOS FETs, capacitors, resistors etc. required.

Good communication skills both verbal and written.

A self-starter and team player with ability to learn on the job.

Good mentoring skills.

High School Degree or Equivalent Years of Experience required. Associate degree a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $31.97 - $56.15 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
