Launched in 2019, LOVB (pronounced “love”) seeks to reimagine the sport of volleyball. Our mission is to champion the sport - and everyone who plays it - in unprecedented ways. Today, we have the largest footprint of youth clubs in the country and are launching our pro league at the end of 2024.It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball, with the US defending with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is the #1 most played girls' youth team sport and there are 38M current and former players in the country today, but the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands and media.LOVB is capturing this opportunity through our strong youth club business and building our pro league from the grassroots-up. This community-up approach is driving participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women participating in this sport.

The Role:As the Manager, Media & Broadcast for the Pro League, you will oversee all aspects of LOVB’s live game media rights and distribution, from enforcing rights agreements and creating the annual broadcast schedule to managing daily media partner relationships across production, operations, advertising, and promotion.You will also be responsible for identifying and thinking beyond the traditional partners to social media and digital-only platforms to meet the evolving needs and expectations of our fan base.Responsibilities:● Overall responsibility for media distribution partnerships including ESPN, DAZN, WSN as well as local TV (RSNs and stations) and international partners; liaise with each partner on:○ Match allocation and scheduling.○ Marketing support and commitments● Overall responsibility for live matches on LOVB’s owned and operated channels including LOVB TV/LOVB.com and social media channels:○ Partner with development team to ensure quality streaming production.○ Establish monetization and revenue opportunity through registration and paid registration technology, merchandise opportunities, sponsorship.○ Work with marketing team to ensure robust marketing efforts to drive traffic to matches on LOVB.com and social media channels.● Creatively pursue live match distribution on social media and other digital media platforms to maximize test and learn opportunities for year 1 and 2.● Log and traffic commercial assets for each telecast (including retained ad units, billboards and in-show enhancements) in coordination with Production company and distribution partners.● Manage ESPN+ partnership and implementation of affiliate programs.● Manage and coordinate match broadcast schedules across all partners.● Work with media partners to obtain ratings and audience data, analyze it and share summaries and insights with relevant LOVB teams.● Build upon existing market expertise through continuous focus, research and analysis of the competitive market globally, nationally and in each of our Pro team cities. Stay abreast of new and emerging OTT, streaming and social platforms for live programming.Background & Qualifications:Bachelor’s DegreeMinimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in sports media & broadcasting, either with a rights holder or a distribution platform.2+ years of supervisory/management experience, preferably in the field.Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships; poise and maturity in relationship building a necessity.Must be a positive, proactive, think outside the box, and organized team player.Strong ability to think strategically and execute.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as ability to collaborate closely with a team that is distributed remotely.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance.Willingness to work with partners across multiple time zones and be available in live event situations including evenings and weekends.A curious and creative mindset to support the development of the next generation of volleyball broadcasts.A clear and friendly communication style with strong listening skills, both written and verbalLocation

Remote but located in a LOVB Pro City (Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Madison, Omaha, Salt Lake)Reports to the Head of Commercial, located in New York City.Working with the world's best volleyball company isn't enough? The annual base salary for this role is $90,000-$100,000, plus our comprehensive benefits package.
