The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $49,200 - $83,200. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is

The Athletic Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the annual marketing plan for all UC Merced Athletics games and events. The incumbent, working with the Sports Information and Marketing Manager, will develop annual communication plans, in-game marketing activations, and community outreach to support all 12 intercollegiate teams at UC Merced.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Athletic Marketing

Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to support 12 intercollegiate sports targeting campus community, Merced and surrounding community.Create fan engagement opportunities for home athletic contests.Manage social media platforms for the department and individual teams ensuring content that aligns with departmental brand and goals.Analyze market trends and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.Campus and Community Engagement

Build relationships with sponsors, alumni and community organizations to increase their knowledge of our athletics program.Collaborate with media partners to promote events and increase attendance.Develop and implement events which will allow our student-athletes to engage with community members.Student Staff Supervision

Supervise and mentor marketing student staff.Qualifications

EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sports Marketing or related field from an accredited institution.3 years experience with marketing or related industry experience.Prior experience with athletic marketing.Prior experience marketing collegiate athletics programs or professional sports. (Preferred)CA Driver's License.CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive marketing plans.Ability to engage with community partners. (Preferred)Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with computer applications related to relevant job duties.Knowledge of trends in collegiate athletics marketing and promotions.Background Check
