Media Specialist

The Franciscan School of Raleigh, NC is seeking a Media Specialist to join its team. In partnership with the school Information Technology Coordinator, the media specialist works with teachers and students to provide multimedia resources for learning.Key responsibilities:Curates and manages digital resources and educational technology tools.Collaborates with teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum.Supports project-based learning and STEM initiatives.Teaches digital literacy and information literacy skills.Facilitates the use of digital tools and platforms for teaching and learning.Advises on the adoption of new technologies and digital resources.Develops and delivers online learning materials and resources.Provides services that support the school's instructional program.Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of our school.Works in collaboration with school administration and faculty to develop a library program that supports the Diocesan curriculum.Provides instructional leadership for teaching literacy skills, develop lesson plans for students.Coordinates and manages the media center, maintain accurate inventories of print, non-print, and technology materials and equipment, as appropriate.Organizes a yearly book fair.Offers a middle school elective.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License as a School Library Media Coordinator.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Technologically proficient in MS Office, Google Suite of tools, school administrative software, and web-based communication tools.Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
