The Food design team is looking for a Digital Product Designer to help define a site experience and feature set that enables that vision across our portfolio of sites. In this role you create functional, elegant design solutions that also vividly express our brand’s promise. You will simultaneously be a champion for our users while also collaborating with our editorial teams to tell stories that delight, engage, and build loyalty.

As a Digital Product Designer at Dotdash Meredith you will collaborate with business stakeholders and user research teams to understand problems, and work directly with other designers, product managers and software developers to build web products that solve them.

To be successful in this role, we'd expect you to:

Thoroughly understand the wants and needs of our users.Translate user needs and business requirements into concrete ideas, wireframes, and mockups.Build interactive prototypes suitable for validating design decisions with users.Collaborate with Brand stakeholders to develop and maintain the visual language of our products.Help maintain cohesive expressions of visual identities for multiple brands.Document design guidelines, share knowledge, and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure products ship on time and as designed.Champion and promote design thinking, research, and process across the organization.

II. Essential Job Functions

Weight % - Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

60% - User Experience Design

Use business requirements, user stories, and data to produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups, and rigorous user interface specifications

30% - Collaborate with Design and Product teams

Partner with UX researchers to validate assumptions, test designs, and understand user dataPresent design solutions and build consensus among a broad range of stakeholdersParticipate in and lead brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big-picture thinking while identifying opportunities to raise the bar on the details

10% - Process Management

Collaborate with broader UX Team to develop and implement best practices

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience

Experience

4-7 years experience as a designer

Specific Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Strong user experience design skills including user flows, wireframing, and interaction designStrong visual design skills, especially visual interface and typographyExperience building interactive prototypes suitable for validating design decisions with usersFamiliarity with atomic design methodology and an interest in the challenges that come with building and maintaining design systemsExpertise in UX software such as Figma, Axure, Adobe Suite, etc. Basic HTML and CSS skills are a big plusExcellent written and verbal communicationBe excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and stakeholders distributed across the countrySelf-motivated and highly-organizedStrong attention to detailExcellent communication skills

Pay Range

Salary: $86,000 - $120,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
