Technical Communications Coordinator Position Purpose

Responsible for assisting and addressing technical inquiries from Customers, Parts, Rental and Sales departments, and Manufacturers to ensure customer satisfaction, drive rental and sales performance, and adhere to manufacturer standards.

Technical Communications Coordinator Essential Functions

Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal

Manages internal equipment issues

Oversees internal equipment matters and customer equipment concerns by providing technical support for new and used sales, trade-ins, rental fleets, and other customer-owned equipment

Consults with manufacturers as required and execute solutions with PSMs, staff, or customers

Coordinates with manufacturers as needed and implements solutions in collaboration with PSM or customers

Interacts with customers to discuss requirements and collaborate on developing and submitting plans to manufacturers. These plans may involve modifications, attachment additions, engineering tasks, and parameter adjustment procedures

Engages with customers to communicate and coordinate requests to manufacturers for structural repair procedures

Manages and delivers comprehensive training on equipment, covering tasks such as assembly, disassembly, loading, unloading, repairs, boom removal and assembly, off-rent inspections, and annual inspections

Oversees and delivers safety training encompassing essential topics such as hand signals, job site safety protocols, and workshop safety procedures for personnel

Consistent and reliable on-site attendance

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Technical Communications Coordinator Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Ten (10) years of Service experience in Heavy Equipment

Proficient in interpreting technical data, operating maintenance, instructions, and parts, repair, and procedure manuals

Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence

Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellentcommunication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications

Physical Requirements

Lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance

The ability to drive locally and to sit for long periods
