Layout Designer

City Lifestyle is a luxury publishing company headquartered in downtown Kansas City, MO that publishes monthly magazines in a franchise model created exclusively for and about the residents of affluent communities across the country. We’re looking for a layout designer to join our team of designers who enjoys interacting with a large team of designers but is comfortable working independently for extended periods of time. Organizationally, our layout designers are methodical, efficient, and productive and enjoy a systematized workflow that functions smoothly and predictably.Please note that the first step in the application process for this role is the completion of a Culture Index survey. Expect to spend 8-10 minutes answering the required questions.Primary responsibilities will include:

The layout of multiple magazines each month using hyper-local content submitted by editorsAdjust the publication following the pagination approved by the Associate Layout DirectorEnsure layouts follow City Lifestyle’s pre-approved and branded layout templatesComplete all tasks on the Proofing Round Checklist for each assigned magazineComplete proofing edits and final edits by appropriately interpreting revision requests while still upholding a high design standardSelect web images for every article to ensure a seamless automatic upload onlineExport covers for printingComplete all tasks on the finalization checklist to appropriately package and file the native filesThis individual should possess the following skills/traits:
