Description

To plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization. Develop instructional courses tailored to meet the desired learning outcomes and needs of Navy Federal and the learners. Collaborate to implement strategies for educating and training employees to achieve higher levels of performance. Utilize a variety of techniques to define and sequence instructional content and strategies. Create curricula by quickly and efficiently learning/processing large volumes of information and by conducting research on subject matter. Remain supportive of business unit/organizational training needs and refresh the training and materials as needed throughout its lifecycle. Work independently under general supervision.

Responsibilities

Advise and assist trainers on course evaluation resultsCollaborate with others to plan and design courses and curricula; ensure accuracy of content and test multimedia elementsConduct needs assessment on request from business unit management to provide customized training or individual guidance to improve and develop performanceCreate and edit new LMS learning activities; set up required training assignments in LMS; create custom LMS reportsCreate dynamic instructional and training materials using current technologies including references and support tools that reinforce training, increase efficiency and help produce error-free workDesign and use quantitative and qualitative methods and metrics to determine if knowledge transferred effectively and/or the desired behavior change occurred after trainingDevelop and test course content, training games, graphic designs and other technology driven productsDevelop classroom, on-line and/or independent learning program content that transfers knowledge effectively and brings about desired behavior changeDevelop instructional strategies and courses for a business unit and/or cross-company products and skillsEvaluate the effectiveness of courses, learning products and delivery methods to ensure that the desired learning objectives and goals are achievedInvolved in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables, significant risk and complexityMeasure return on training investments by evaluating programs/materials to ensure that the desired learning objectives and goals are achievedProvide information about new or advanced instructional theories and tools to other designers and/or trainersSelect most effective instructional approach including a blend of instructor-led and/or self-directed techniquesSelect, modify, or establish a design and development model appropriate for a given project; analyze learning needs to assist in establishing learning objectivesServes as change management lead for business unit; apply change management principles and knowledge to develop strategies including organizational assessments, stakeholder analysis and change roadmaps and plansTrain internal team members on effective use of classroom materials including ILT and VILT and environmentsValidate and integrate feedback, assessments and course evaluations into current and new training course content and/or delivery vehicleConduct presentations for various groups including executive leadershipDevelop and implement change management solutionsPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to adapt to fluctuating work-flowAbility to compile, organize and present information clearly and conciselyExperience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projectsSignificant experience in evaluating the effectiveness of courses and learning products and delivery methodsSignificant experience in researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs and other technology driven productsAdvanced knowledge of instructional design to develop courses for products, processes and/or skillsExpert knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools and resourcesExperience developing effect eLearning training
