RESPONSIBILITIES:Teach Navigating the Healthcare System classes to adult refugee clientsConduct post-assessments with clients after they go through the health class seriesEnter and track data in Salesforce cloud computing systemSchedule health classesAssist in other health promotion areas as assignedParticipate in health program meetingsAssist the health team in transporting clients to their health appointments at least once a weekSupport the IRC-SLC office with other duties as assignedLEARNING OBJECTIVES:Gain professional experience working in the public health sector.Gain skills in assessing the public health needs of different communities.Gain public speaking experience through teaching health classes to clients.Minimum Qualifications:REQUIREMENTS:Background in health promotion, social work, or other related fieldExperience working with diverse populationsMotivated, flexible, able to work independentlyStrong communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamStrong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteValid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to drive clientsUnderstanding of program planning and evaluation preferredMust be currently enrolled in a graduate/undergraduate program, or have graduated less than 6 months agoAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in English; fluency in additional foreign language preferredBackground check is requiredIntern will report to: Whitney Nguyen
