The

Library Manager of the Acquisitions & Collections

team is responsible for managing the centralized ordering and receiving of print materials for the Austin Public Library system. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, actively monitoring and evaluating the budget allocations for print and digital materials, coordinating the workflow of material ordering, contract monitoring, ensuring compliance with COA purchasing guidelines, and providing actionable steps to balance the library collection. In addition, the Library Manager will be expected to collaborate with the Cataloging team as needed to ensure resources are properly labeled and distributed. Additional supervisory expectations include but are not limited to, the selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal of staff.The ideal candidate must be able to exercise sound critical thinking and judgment to handle complex matters; and must possess excellent listening, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to successfully collaborate with other library teams to ensure all levels of the customer (internal and external) experience are being taken into account. Stays abreast of library trends.Assists in development of budget and grant applications and directs or monitors work-unit expenditures. Oversees cash handling and reporting.
