This position is located out of our Bloomington, IN office.Hybrid work is available with at least 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week with the option to work remotely.The salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000/yrAre you a dynamic, strategic marketing leader who has a knack for data-driven strategy and collaboratively solving business issues? The Indiana University Foundation invites you to join our team as the Senior Director of Marketing.Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Advancement Marketing, you’ll play a pivotal role serving on the Advancement Marketing Leadership Team, as we have recently integrated marketing functions from both the IUAA and the IU Foundation (IUF) into one core function supporting both organizations. Your leadership journey will involve guiding a team of dedicated professionals specializing in strategy development and analytics. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in marketing and communications, preferably with a focus on higher education and/or advancement. We are looking for individuals who are deeply mission-driven, creative, passionate, and dedicated to making a meaningful impact.You will play a critical role in deploying a donor pipeline-building strategy for the department/organization and will activate day-to-day working strategies for members of the team. You will provide organizational-level leadership, expertise, counsel, and coordination for marketing strategies and must be able to resolve client business challenges and provide key project plans to drive outcomes.You will lead the development and execution of a business intelligence strategy, leveraging data, research, and technology trends to optimize work through analytics. Responsibilities include training team members in data capture and analysis, identifying and targeting constituency groups, and managing survey design and assessment functions to enhance relationships with IU alumni, donors, and friends.This newly established position calls for a versatile individual who can seamlessly blend teams, provide strategic direction, engage in hands-on production-level work, and act as an in-house liaison/consultant for our internal partners. Your influence will extend to implementing comprehensive marketing strategies with measurable targets, driving philanthropic and engagement efforts, and deploying a donor pipeline-building strategy.We seek a deadline wrangler with a passion for strategy, execution, measurement, delegation, team building, and optimization. Expertise in core marketing principles, strategies, and best practices, as well as marketing and communication mediums.Excellent organizational and planning skills to envision new projects and oversee them from concept to completion.Proven record of accomplishment managing personnel, programs, and budgets.Comprehensive knowledge of every step in the communication and marketing materials production process to guide staff, outside vendors, and teammates in creating outstanding products.Advanced knowledge in designing sustainable email marketing strategies that put the constituent first.Ability to inspire others, foster cross-divisional collaboration, and manage by influence across a diverse organization.Ability to give guidance, receive constructive feedback, and integrate varying points of view.Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and balance multiple demands in a complex and fast-paced work environment.The highest standards of professional and personal behavior; excellent judgment and the ability to treat confidential information with discretion.Ability to practice and adhere to organizational values.Experience developing and executing high-level marketing plans.Advanced understanding of email marketing and artificial intelligence strategies.Experience in leading fundraising and engagement professionals.Experience building, leading, motivating, assessing, and holding accountable high-performing, well-integrated professional teams, preferably in a higher education fundraising environment.Experience working with executive leadership to advance strategic priorities.Experience with marketing and/or donor relationship databases (Salesforce).Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field is required.A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in marketing or a related field is required.Experience leading teams is required.Preferred QualificationsA master’s degree is preferred.Combinations of education and experience will be considered.Additional Information
