Hi. We’re a life sciences company using natural resources and the principles of biotechnology to create a more sustainable future. We make natural ingredients for skincare and therapeutics, sustainable chemicals for the fashion industry, and a whole lot of other things.We are looking for a Public Relations Specialist to join our marketing and creative team. You’ll play a critical role in raising awareness about the company and keeping the world up to date on our innovations. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with editors of consumer and business-focused publications, pitching and securing stories about our company, writing think pieces, managing social feeds and aligning PR activities with our holistic marketing campaigns.Are you passionate about science and the way it can reshape the skincare and fashion industries? Media Relations:
Cultivate relationships with editors and journalists in consumer and business-focused publications. First 30-60 days task will be to quickly build a rolodex of media contacts for continued outreach and relationship building.Story Development:
Create compelling narratives that showcase our company's mission, products, and innovations. Write thought-leader content to pitch editorials and post via LinkedIn.Press Releases:
Draft and distribute press releases to announce new product launches, partnerships, and company developments.Scientific Communication:
Translate complex scientific concepts into clear and engaging content for both scientific and non-scientific audiences.Social Media:
Manage and create content for our company's social media platforms.Monitoring and Reporting:
Track media coverage and PR performance metrics, providing regular reports to management.Qualifications:
3-6 years of industry experience applicable to communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or the like.Bachelor's degree.Strong interest in biotechnology, sustainability, and scientific concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven experience applicable to performing the tasks listed above.Ability to be in our Needham, MA office 3 days a week.Familiarity with skincare and fashion industry trends is a plus.Proficiency in social media management and content creation.Self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently.
