TYNDALL CENTRE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE RESEARCHCommunication Officer (0.55FTE, 20 hours per week)Ref: SC4700Starting salary from £25,138 per annum (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £28,759 per annum (pro rata).The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change at the University of East Anglia (UEA) is seeking a Communication Officer to join the team on a part-time basis. The Tyndall Centre is a partnership of five UK Universities, led and coordinated by UEA. It was founded in 2000 to research what to do about the challenge of climate change.In this role you will pro-actively lead the internal and external communications, predominantly online, but not limited to this. You will keep www.tyndall.ac.uk and social media up to date. Complete high-quality science writing and press releases. Find research stories, with some design for digital and print.Your objective is to ensure a steady stream of new content to engage existing audiences and reach new ones. The Centre is gearing up for an international conference in September 2025, celebrating 25 years of climate change research. You will be joining a small team that helps to continue create significant reach and influence.This part-time (0.55FTE, 20 hours per week) role is available from September 2024 on a fixed term basis for up to two years.UEA offers a variety of flexible working options; we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.
