The Art Director will lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary artists - to help create and maintain Epic's vision. This person will have a balance of creative thinking and a strong ability to lead a team in developing content for our various projects. By working closely with the Product Art Director you will be accountable for identifying and communicating a high-quality visual style, you will also develop a team of artists and coach them to do the same.In this role, you will

Be highly creative. Imagine and communicate your vision to the team to develop new content that players will loveHelp Epic push the visual envelope by creating stunning and inspiring charactersDirect and mentor a worldwide team of artists; delivering effective feedback across all art disciplines - modeling, animation, etcInterpret the needs of all development disciplines such as design and engineering into amazing final artworkCollaborate with the Product and IP teams on themes and cosmetic setsDeliver effective feedback across all art disciplines - modeling, animation, etcCreate and iterate unique and stunning designs within a determined production scheduleWhat we're looking for

Experience as an art director in a game studioA Deep understanding of the game development process and art disciplinesStrong understanding of art fundamentals, multiple art styles, anatomy, appealExperience designing characters of a wide variety and broad appealStrong understanding of color theory and how color affects mood & focal points - with a focus on modern fashion-forward aestheticsExcellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills & experience with effective feedback for outsourcing and contractorsStrong leadership skills in order to lead a large number of people toward a singular visionExperience directing and supporting artists across multiple disciplinesThe ability to adapt to and innovate new styles and techniquesStrong collaborative nature to partner with senior art directors and discipline leadsEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE
