Speech-Language PathologyThe Department of Speech-Language Pathology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time Lecturer(s) for Fall 2024 to teach SLP 463: Low-Incidence Communication Disorders.Course DescriptionFocuses on low-incidence communication disorders and augmentative and alternative methods of communication. Presents theories and principles in the onset, development, and maintenance of fluency in children and adults. Covers etiological and structural factors associated with cleft lip and palate and resulting difficulties in areas related to communication, such as speech, language, and hearing. Explores approaches to support individuals with complex communication needs, including assistive technology. Reviews current best practices in prevention, assessment, and treatment for populations across the lifespan.Minimum Qualifications:A master's degree within the field of Communication Sciences and DisordersExpertise in working with individuals who stutter or have fluency disordersASHA CCC'sPer the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
