Short Description

Demonstrates institutional knowledge of clinical/financial systems.Has the ability to troubleshoot system issues.Ability to develop user manuals, policies/procedures, and reference materials that are clinically relevant.Design, develop, implement, and assess informatics skill-based learning for clinicians and staff.Works with administrative departments and IT security to enable applications for user provisioning.Design, develop, and update clinical training curriculum including but not limited to classroom, individual, and computer-based modules.Support design, coordination, and delivery of new hire training programs.Set up and populate electronic training environment.Participates in system testing for new functionality and system upgrades.Demonstrates knowledge of adult education principles.Conducts needs assessments, program evaluations, and end-user proficiency tests.Prepares class rosters.Maintains associated record-keeping documents.Proactively maintains, develops, and continuously updates training materials for various training sessions (Orientation, Advanced, Refresher classes, Helpful Hints, Frequently Asked Questions).Ability to conduct classroom-style training for users.Ability to conduct one-on-one training sessions with users as needed.Conduct observations of users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesign.Maintain knowledge of Cooper's standard configurations and clinic-specific templates and customization.Provide onsite training and issue resolution support at all locations.Serve as a resource to helpdesk staff in ticket resolution.Provide user interface support for new EHR implementations.Assist with coordinating requests by end-users for system modifications and enhancements.Maintain an issue knowledgebase to document specific training issues related to the application.Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability.Exceptional communication abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staff.Conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles.Ability to customize and configure Clinical systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices.Ability to evaluate and analyze Clinical systems features and functionality for problem resolution.Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours.Ability to document workflow design and identify areas for improvement.Knowledge of industry best practices related to patient flow.Demonstrate strong skills with industry-standard tools related to training.Perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned.Demonstrate requirements gathering skills.Serve as a liaison between end users, subject matter experts, and technical support.Develop and maintain all policy and procedure-related documentation.Participate as IT representative on committees and task forces as needed.Perform on-call duties as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned.Demonstrate sound and logical problem-solving abilities.Self-motivated to identify and resolve issues, and in advancing personal knowledge.Demonstrate strong organizational core values.

Experience Required

2-4 years of experience; 3 years' experience in training, Information Technology, Healthcare Operations, or 1 to 2 years as super user or trainer for EMR/EHR deployments.

Education Requirements

HS required; Bachelor's preferred.

License/Certification Requirements

EPIC TRAINING Certification desired. If an instructional designer does not yet have an Epic certification or proficiency for the module they teach, they will obtain it within a year of taking on responsibility for that module. They will maintain this certification unless it is determined by management that certification in this module is no longer required.

Special Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Instructor-led classroom training &/or experience in other training delivery modes.
