BASE SALARY:
$55,000 to $75,000 per year, paid bi-monthly
MUST HAVE:
Excellent editing and writing skills with deep knowledge and passion for SEO strategies at an article level. You must be a subject matter expert in Personal Finance with a strong history of updating that type of content.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3 years experience in a digital editor or writer position.
YOUR ROLE
As the Senior Updates Editor at
FinanceBuzz , you will relentlessly update our library of published content. Your goals will be to improve user experience, boost monetization, and drive additional traffic through improved rankings. You are someone who is obsessed with creating content that performs in the eyes of the reader and for Google.
The ideal candidate is able to assess what needs to be updated in a piece of content. You should be comfortable making live changes in a CMS and possess strong writing skills for substantial updates.
In this role, you will manage a team of highly skilled updates editors, responsible for the quality and quantity of their work, and providing daily feedback. Your work and your team’s work will directly impact rankings and revenue, and you will contribute to longer-term SEO strategy through design and product solutions.
To succeed in this role, you should have an eagle eye for detail, naturally question facts, and seek up-to-date answers. You are a team player who enjoys working on multiple projects and can handle different priorities and timelines. You balance a fast pace with quality output and make smart decisions around resource allocation to create the biggest impact.

Factual accuracy and up-to-dateness

Ensuring all updated content adheres to our style, sourcing, and compliance guidelines
Creating reports and synthesizing data and insights on the update process for the Editorial Team
Developing and maintaining update-related documentation for our team
Working closely with the Editorial Team to improve your knowledge and skills through their feedback and mentorship
Working independently to improve your knowledge of SEO best practices and sharing that knowledge with the team
Growing and fostering the FinanceBuzz brand as a top destination for personal finance information and education
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
3-5 years of experience in a digital editor or writer role
A passion for creating high-quality, high-performance content
Expertise in personal finance and familiarity with compliance
An ability to work and make decisions independently
Experience working within a CMS (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Asana (or Airtable or Trello)
A clear understanding of how search engine optimization works
Basic knowledge of HTML is a plus

Base salary is set according to market rates for the nearest major metro and varies based on Launch Potato’s Levels Framework. Your compensation package includes a base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits.
