Position Summary

Are you a product marketer looking to make a huge impact at a hyper-growth company? Do you see how DevOps & Platform Engineering are redefining the way the world’s largest enterprises think about their software delivery in today's cloud-native world?

Harness is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Marketing to lead our company-wide GTM strategy and execution for the Platform Engineering solution area. This role will be a key part of our Product Marketing team and will be defining our strategy, messaging and core assets, including sales enablement and competitive intelligence.

The ideal candidate will have expertise with enterprise-grade DevOps and platform engineering, particularly as it relates to internal developer portals, infrastructure-as-code, golden paths to production with built-in shift-left security, reliability and cloud cost optimizations. You would be deeply familiar with how DevOps & platform engineering teams collaborate with various development teams to supercharge developer experience, without compromising organizational governance policies. Armed with this knowledge, you will create assets that resonate and activities that result in pipeline and sales.

About The Role

This role will have the opportunity to own a greenfield area for the company, and make a highly visible impact. It sits at the intersection of three key functions namely, sales, marketing and product with revenue growth as the northstar metric. Key responsibilities include:

Create & orchestrate the communication of core value propositions to the global Harness sales team through tools and training that support the selling process. Deliver content related to value selling, competitive differentiators, and product-focused sales materials. Enable sales teams to create new opportunities and close in-pipeline opportunities.Use your proven experience, technical expertise, and understanding of our buyer personas to create specific marketing content such as product videos, website copy, blog posts, whitepapers that help prospect & customers learn about, select, and be advocates for our products. Enable demand generation, AR/PR and event marketing teams to beat their marketing-activated pipeline targets through such content.Together with the product team, drive product launches as well as educate both internal and external stakeholders on our product features and their benefitsDevelop deep knowledge of buyer personas in different company sizes and industriesConduct market analysis to obtain understanding of the competitive landscape and help establish product differentiatorsEstablish individual and team metrics and report on successEffectively communicate internally relevant insights and key takeaways of industry news, events, analyst reports and social media activity

About You

Excellent understanding of DevOps & Platform Engineering principles (including open-source projects like Backstage.io & Terraform-alternative OpenTofu) as well as cloud-native microservice architectures built on Kubernetes and serverless technologiesYou are able to communicate with a developer who loves GitOps and an Enterprise Architect trying to drive a standard across the organizationYou are a hands-on, technical product marketer driven by data and researchYou are a creative and passionate problem solverYou are able to think big while charting small steps towards the end goalYou are obsessed with market research and deep understanding of secular industry trendsYou are comfortable working in and leveraging open source communitiesYou can bring qualitative and quantitative insights together to drive sound decision makingYou are obsessed with the little details and constantly optimizing for simplicityStrong communication skills, verbal and written3+ years of experience in product marketing/management of developer tools or infrastructure software products5+ years of experience with SaaS / Cloud companies

Work Location

This position is expected to work from one of our offices within North America (San Francisco, Mountain View, Dallas)
