DescriptionThe Photo Art Director works with a broad team of creatives, photographers, stylists, clients, production personnel and others to create innovative, high quality, on brand, and beautiful/aesthetically pleasing images for client advertising across multiple media platforms. Assisting in the development, planning and execution of photo shoots for ecommerce and catalog print needs. This position supports the photo stylists, photographers, studio manager, art directors and most importantly clients to ensure all photography adheres to brand standards. The Photo Art Director is onsite at the photo studio and is a cross-functional collaborator who delivers across multiple, complex photography projects, while driving deadlines and maintaining a high creative bar.About you:You have a creative background full of experience in the commercial photography industry. A portfolio showcasing your hands on photography styling skills as well as photo art directed work. You excel in complex, fast-paced environments and are gifted in crafting truly, distinctive, and visually compelling ideas, even amidst the most intricate business and customer challenges. You have excellent leadership and communications skills with the ability to guide and motivate studio teams.What you’ll do:Photo art direct photography for several photo crews at once, sometimes for multiple clientsProvide art direction for catalog, ecomm and lifestyle photo shootsCreate and/or learn, live and breathe a brands style guide (look and feel, styling, lighting)Contribute to photography in the studio, providing direction and at times, styling shots yourselfCommunicate with other stakeholders and clients to assist in the completion of on time, on brand and most importantly beautiful photographyProvide clear, constructive and respectful feedback to photography teams (stylists, assistants and photographers)Contribute to the ideation and execution of set buildsRemain open to constructive feedback and the ability to evolve and grow with the studioAct as a positive team player who does not hesitate to jump in when additional support is neededRequirementsExperience leading creative development from concept to deliveryFriendly, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and contributeAbility to multi-task, organize, and problem-solve under tight deadlinesUnderstanding of photography trends, talent, and techniques, allowing for informed decision-making and innovative approachesKnowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Digital Photography and LightingExcellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey changes, updates, and ideas to creative staff, as well as to engage with various departments within the organizationAbility to accept criticism and adapt or modify as neededExperience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlinesCollaborate with creative teams and clients fostering positive working relationships and contributing to collective successProactive and self-motivated individual with a passion for creativeWillingness to develop new initiatives and generate ideas beyond assigned projects, staying informed about industry trends and making recommendations accordingly
