The ideal candidate will know how to win the big story, own breaking news and display important weather information.The news producer is responsible for the creation of newscasts with fresh content, strong story flow and compelling supporting graphics.Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Select, research, and write content for live newscastsBoothing assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather eventsMust be able to think strategically and motivate your team to execute your visionAct with urgency and immediacyEnsure story selection and placement fits newsroom standards for vision and growthUnderstand our DMA, key target audiences and where they liveProduce engaging and error-free workGetting live and user-generated content to the newscast, sending push alerts to extend the reach of our workQualifications / Requirements :Comfortable, confident, and competent news judgmentA college degree in journalism, broadcasting or communication preferredKLKN-TV is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
