Job SummaryThe Digital & Content Specialist is responsible for ensuring cohesive storytelling across paid and owned digital media platforms that drives the promotion and success of the CRVA’s multiple brands, with a focus on CRVA venues. This position should possess strong creativity and writing skills related to digital content generation that spark audience engagement and bolster key campaigns and events. This role supports all CRVA brands, with an emphasis on the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Bojangles Entertainment Complex and Charlotte Convention Center.Essential Job DutiesDemonstrates excellent, adaptive written communication skills across various digital channels included but not limited to social media, articles, advertising/display and e-newsletters.Execute updates and publish content for CRVA-managed websites and digital platforms. Primary focus on the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Bojangles Entertainment Complex and Charlotte Convention Center.Provides on-site coverage for event-specific needs supporting Bojangles Coliseum, Ovens Auditorium, NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Charlotte Convention Center through social media and media relations.Staffs programs and events at CRVA venues in collaboration with Public Relations team members.Collaborate with teammates to audit website content and create new content with focus on Charlotte Meetings, Charlotte Convention Center, Travel Trade, Sports, BOplex.com and NASCAR Hall of Fame sites.Support Public Relations team members as needed with the drafting of media materials such as press releases, media alerts and fact sheets.Supports content creation across CRVA’s digital platforms, including brand websites and e-newsletters.Identifies relevant user generated content (UGC) and engages creators on social media to secure permissions for reposting, blogging, sharing on CRVA channels/platforms.Assists with the coordination of creative asset and multimedia development for social media channel and website usage between internal Digital Team, external Digital Agency and Marketing/Communications Creative Services.Collaborate and execute on project needs between Venue Manager, Snr. Public Relations Manager, Digital Content Specialist, Digital Media Manager.Serves as a resource for CRVA social media brand channel communities with a focus on Bojangles Entertainment Complex and NASCAR Hall, providing customer support and feedback to promote CRVA channel engagement and growth.Ensure accurate and up-to-date information on review websites such as Google and TripAdvisor to clearly communicate CRVA venue offerings to potential visitors.Collaborates with the Brand Manager, Digital Media to expand the breadth of content offered across brand channels’ social media (i.e. giveaways, promotions, sponsored posts, insider coverage, video, etc.)Produces, edits and fact-checks a wide range of paid and owned digital content including, but not limited to, digital advertorials, sponsored content, digital marketing collateral, online editorial, B2C and B2B tourism and meetings materials.Produces effective/compelling, concise, engaging/persuasive and grammatically correct and well-researched copy; Keen attention to detail, AP writing style, consistency and ability to produce error-free work are a must.Understands, communicates and can quickly interpret CRVA brand voice copy needs, adeptly articulating editorial, marketing and promotional copy that drives consumer action.Stays current and forward-thinking on new social media tools, digital marketing products, and platforms, best practices, and use within the competitive landscape.Audits existing site content and supports third-party auditing of digital content (i.e. articles, round-ups, features) for CRVA websites via editorial direction of the Senior Brand Manager, Senior Brand Manager Digital Experience, Director of Digital Media & Content, Content Manager and internal Digital Content Team.Collaborates with brand managers to maintain brand standards and assures accuracy of information.Performs copy-related administrative tasks as needed.Performs other duties as assigned to support the CRVA Marketing/Communications team.Scope of ResponsibilityThis job will have periodic access to confidential data including company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs and company plans, designs and/or programs.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.Knowledge and Skill RequirementsInventive, creative writer and strong editor with the ability to motivate people and inspire consumer action.Impeccable spelling and grammar, advanced expertise in AP style.Strong editing for consistency, clarity, brevity, accuracy and readability across digital and print materials.Highly collaborative when integrating copy with design, whether in print/collateral/web layouts, marketing materials or other projects.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail and marketing knowledge. Understands differences between print, digital, social, promotional and other forms of storytelling.Demonstrated ability to work independently and take direction.Ability to effectively facilitate multiple projects and issues simultaneously and to meet deadlines and be responsive. Demonstrated excellent judgment and decision-making skills.Ability to maintain composure and clarity of thought and purpose when confronted with highly stressful situation; ability to effectively analyze and identify problems and create a resolution.Willingness to learn about a wide range of subjects, including destination marketing, meeting and convention planning, etc.Understanding of basic project management and customer service principles.Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.Self-motivated, organized, fervent work ethic and independent.Ability and willingness to remain open to feedback and constructive criticism and revise copy based on feedback.Able to perform and excel within an integrated, fast-paced team environment.Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.Experience with InCopy, InDesign and Photoshop preferred.Previous experience managing freelancers preferred.Professional, diverse portfolio experience including a variety of media and formats: print ads, television, digital, SEO web content, blog posts, etc.Basic understanding of search engine optimization practices and techniques.Education and ExperienceMinimum of BS/BA/BBA preferred or equivalent experience along with 3-5 years of relevant job experience in digital marketing, public relations, and/ or a related field.Physical DemandsThe employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
